Miss Burrows

Here is an overview of the areas of learning the Infants will be looking at this half-term. The topic for the Infants this term is called ‘Blown Away.’

Children in the Infants are expected to read for 5-10 minutes each night, either a school book or Active Learn book and this should be logged in their reading record. Currently, the spelling scheme requires children to complete a spelling sheet and learn spellings which incorporate the spelling rule taught in class that week. Spellings continued to be tested on a Tuesday morning.

In English we will be looking at a book called ‘Mr Big’ by Ed Vere and writing our own setting for this story as well as a non-fiction report later in the term.

In Mathematics we will be covering money and multiplication.

During topic lessons we will be investigated the different seasons and weather patterns in the UK through science, geography and art.

Computing this term will focus on using the internet safely to search for information.

During our RE lessons the children will be learning all about the Creation Story.

In addition to the topic areas above, we will also be using our creative skills during our WOW days.

Thank you for your continued support at home. Any queries or concerns regarding your children’s learning please ask.

Thank you,

Miss L Burrows.
